Please drop by my campaign office (I am running for City Council in Ward 13) at 3109 Dundas St. W. during the Junction Arts Festival. On Sat. from 10 to 5 bring your old cell phones, laptops, chargers for free recycling with Inorganic Market. Our office is open Sat. 10 to 8 and Sunday 10 to 6. Come in and see photographs by local photographer David Allen. Bring a non-perishable food item for the food bank. Looking forward to a great weekend.

JRA Arts Festival Booth – Saturday and Sunday 11am to 5pm

Come visit your JRA this weekend at our booth on Dundas at High Park Avenue. The JRA executive and active members will be on hand to answer questions and talk about the Junction.

Your JRA will also be conducting interactive community planning activities which will help shape future planning of our great neighbourhood. Stickers, bingo daubers, and Post-its will be supplied.

Come get a JRA membership, too!

Junction Community Forum – 11am Saturday and 1pm Sunday

The JRA is hosting a Junction Community Forum on the Community Stage on High Park Ave.

We are inviting leaders from other nearby resident associations to take part in a question and answer discussion on local topics. This is a great opportunity for residents to inquire about and comment on a wide range of issues.

So come out, ask a question andget some great Junction updates.

I can honestly say, having been out both Saturday and Sunday to the festival, that this year was a massive disappointment. From the poorly thought out expansion east of Keele to the complete lack of art (was it the Junction knick knacks and food festival?) and inappropriate music ("Lets all get high" and other songs with utter profanity emanating from the DJ out front of Margaret's… right beside the children's activities) this event really put me off. Definitely not something to bring the kids out too.

So much hope going it it, so much disappointment leaving it. Just poorly organized and through out in my humble opinion.

One thing I did like was the J.R.A. booth. The map of our community and the green/yellow/red stickers was a great idea. Kudos to Martin L. and co.

I found the festival enjoyable, for the most part. I think Rob/Junctioneer should start a thread asking for feedback like this. I'm sure he's willing to listen to constructive criticism and pass it on to the JREF.

This blog is not the place to discuss the ins and outs of the festival, simply because the hole team and the board should hear your concerns.
