American retailer Target adds The Junction to its lineup

 

Well the Junction gets a Target – a store that can cause  more than a few of the Junction people to drive to Buffalo to shop.

This author is wondering just what effect this will have on the store-scape  in the area, will it ring up customers from the local Walmart, Futureshop and the other big box stores in the area?

 

Will it create a greater retail diverse store class on the local Dundas St. West strip?

One area it will definitively have development effect on in the reworking of 43 Junction Road.

 

Toronto location – at a site being developed by Riocan Real Estate Investment Trust at the corner of Weston and St. Clair– was announced at the real estate company’s annual general meeting Wednesday.

What does this have to do with the reworking of 43 Junction Road? Shouldn't this post be tagged with 30 Weston instead?

Most good authors put a link to the quote they use…. can you please provide us the link that you got the following quote from?

yep I missed that tag, but I do know the current owners of 43 Junction want it ti develop into a Liberty village type area, and have a serious food store working to locate at 43 Junction Rd. This new mall at 30 Weston Rd, will surely enhance that effort by providing security to the development of 43, by proximity to 30 Weston Rd.

Last fall a art school did not have that security in area change to locate at 43 Junction Rd after much effort on their part.

Organic Food Market on Junction Road?

Good news for area foodies: An application is before the city to put an organic supermarket (http://www.organicgarage.ca/) at the foot of Mulock avenue, in the space at 43 Junction Road, which underwent some renovations recently. The plan would be for the store to use half of the space at the site.

The application has been made by Organic Garage, an Oakville-based company whose stores are similar to the Big Carrot or Whole Foods in that they offer not just fruits and vegetables, but meat, baked goods and personal supplies. How much the neighbourhood is changing!

Could not find the old tags for the St.Clair Avenue Study on the Junctioneer Website so I placed the comments here since this will help the traffic flow for the new mall complex. This will also force Corsetti Meats to move and sell there building all the way to Colbalt Avenue.

St. Clair Avenue West Widening, Cobalt Avenue to East of Mondovi Gate
The City of Toronto will e widening the pavement on St. Clair Ave. W. from Cobalt Avenue to 70 m east of Mondovi Gate. This work will include new concrete curb and sidewalk and concrete base roadway on the south side. Some widening on the north side is also planned to make space for left turn lanes at Mondovi Gate. This project is expected to be completed by November 11, 2011.

It seems that under the St.Clair Avenue Study "Corsetti Meats" and the land they own is zoned for Comercial/Retail on the ground floor and Five or Six story's of residential above.

The St.Clair Avenue Study is now fully complete with amendments and was approved on September 21, 2011, I would assume that the city website will be updated in the near future with this new info.
