Any updates on teh outcome of the "30 Weston Rd" meeting

– What was the conclusion of the meeting?
– How long is the pile driving going to go on for?
– When is the construction on the site going to start for the mall complex?
– Any mention of the tenants moving into the site?
etc..

Thanks

Manny

I'd be curious to see a summary of what transpired in the meeting as well. Any resolutions? Anyone know where I can get that information?

The compacting is causing the vibrations in our homes. The pile driving has stopped and we no longer have the clanging noise 12 hrs a day but the houses are shaking every time the crane drops. People's homes are being damaged and it is being passed back and forth if it is a City responsibility or a Ministry of the Environment one. NIMBY.

The soil compaction will start again tomorrow "Thursday November 24, 2011" with the new changes Trinity put in place and ministry of envrionments approval.

The latest news today is that Trinity expects all ground improvement work to be completed in 3 to 4 weeks from now (pending weather or other circumstances) which is good news and then the real construction of the site can start afterwards.

Permits for the Mall Complex have started coming in. They have maybe a week or more for the soil work and then the real development starts.

Project: Retail Store Site Service

Description: site servicing for new retail complex

Interesting Article, expect more U.S/European Retailers and Condo's moving into the Junction in years to come.

A new 600,000-sf shopping centre is under construction in mid-town Toronto on lands that once housed the stockyards and virtually every new condominium development in downtown Toronto includes a street level retail component.

Trinity Development Group is working with New York City-based Greenberg Farrow to design the 650,000-sf Stockyards Shopping Centre. Once home to stockyards and packing plants, the 20-acre property at Weston Road and St. Clair Avenue W will feature mid-box and smaller stores surrounding a three-deck parking garage. The project is scheduled to open in 2012. PetSmart, The Shoe Company and Best Buy are reported to be signed to the centre.

My house is damaged by all the shaking and I notice cracks an water filtering in the basement where that was never there before!! I am very upsat about this and it does not seem that there is any acountability on who will be paying for the damages, does anyone knows any update? is there a collective complaine going on ??

The Soil Compaction work at 30 Weston Road is complete now and expect some information this January 2012, possibiliy the second week for a Trinity meeting or announcement for the construction plans/dates for the mall complex since the site plan has also been approved.

Permits are now coming in for the construction of the mall complex at 30 Weston Rd.

Ok, the construction will restart then what about the damage already caused by the construction?? Where do I go to complain and why nobody else is doing anything about it??

Hi All,

I too live in the townhouses that have been affected by Trinity’s construction and am very concerned about our houses. I received a letter in the mail this week from Comfort Property Management stating that Trinity Development Group Inc. has filed an appeal at the Environmental Review Tribunal of the Minsitry of the Environment’s Order dated November 29, 2012. That Order required Trinity to stop engaging in any work that had an “adverse effect” on the health of any person/property. Trinity’s appeal is set for Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 10am at the Environment and Land Tribunals Ontario office at 655 Bay St, Hearing Room 3, 16th Floor.

Those affected are invited to attend to provide their feedback on Trinity’s appeal. If you want to attend, you MUST register by Thursday, March 14, 2012 by emailing the Tribunal’s case coordinator at: tracee.wessam@ontario.ca

I hope all of us who have been affected can attend to make sure that our well-being is considered in the decision to allow Trinity to continue their construction. I will be there and hope I can meet other concerned residents.

The permits for the 'Post Earth Work' have been issued and the construction has started at 30 Weston Rd ahead of Schedule. This includes everything for the Site Service eg. (Water/Sanitary/Electrical/etc..) and Retaining Walls.

This is great news since i hope this mall gets built fast since it's been a long time since this land has had little or no activity other then the compaction work last year.
