Junction Tree Walk – Saturday, May 6
If you go down to the “woods” of Malta Square (cobblestones & benches at Dundas & St. John’s) at 1:00 p.m. this coming Sunday, May 6, the surprise will be New World Arborist Kent Nielsen ready to lead our walk around the Junction neighbourhood to learn more about renewing and preserving its tree canopy.
During the hour, hour-and-a-half walk, Kent will point to healthy (and not so healthy) trees, tell us how we can keep the first and help the second, and answer all questions about how to preserve and expand our urban forest.
Kent Nielsen also has hosted the Fairmont Royal York Goes Out On a Limb in tribute to UNESCO’S 2011 International Year of Forests designation. (link)
