Loblaws to create with American company Takeoff Technologies to build A micro-fulfillment center inside A Toronto area store, to serve the pickup and delivery market for foodstuffs and sundry traditional supermarket offerings.

The instore highly automated warehouse using Takeoff Technologies tech will fulfill orders for Loblaw’s PC Express click-and-collect service at the store and areas around the store.

 

Takeoff Technologies, as stated by the company “brings robotics and automation to the task of assembling orders, which makes it much faster, more efficient, and less expensive than current manual methods. Second, we do this at the store location close to the customer’s home.”
