New meat plant opens in the Junction in the closed Ryding-Regency Meat Packers closed late in 2019.

Ryding-Regency Meat Packers closed late in 2019 after having  the processing licence revoked by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.  Reasons stated by the given by the agency were the risk of injury and violations of the Safe Food for Canadians Act as reasons for the action

A new new name, Tru Harvest Meats, and new ownership have moved the plant reopening forward, it appears some employees of Ryding Regency are employed by the new management.

Meat packing on Glen Scarlett Rd, and the surrounding area has long history, along with steel drum making, feather processing and hides to leather pre-prep. Now beer making has been added to the mix with three establishments operating on Symes Rd. All of these businesses new and old contribute to a small number but important, employment sector, within the Junction.
