Wanted Alfalfa Hay, Timothy Hay and Straw for the High Park Zoo

The city is current seeking suppliers to provide small bales of good quality hay and straw, free from excess dust , rot and mold. The Successful Bidder will be responsible for the delivery, unloading and stacking of the Alfalfa Hay, Timothy Hay and Straw where instructed by the staff on duty.

The hoot above is of Timothy Hay which is a grass hay. Grass hay differs from legumes in that it is composed of long, hollow stems that grow up to 60 inches tall with leaves that can grow up to 17 inches. The heads (inflorescence) of timothy hay are usually 3-6 inches long and are densely packed with spikelets that flower when mature.
