Trees are an integral part of our everyday lives. They improve the quality of the air we breathe, improve our mood, support wildlife, increase property value and provide other countless benefits. Help Toronto increase its’ green canopy – get a free tree for your property!

Green 13 and Annette Street Library are hosting another Tree for Me event where you can pick up your preordered free tree, plus learn how to plant and care for it! There will be free mulch, so please bring your own bag. Light refreshments provided!

All trees and shrubs in the Tree For Me program are sourced from native local seed stock. Following species are available this fall:

  • Acer saccharum (sugar maple)
  • Acer rubrum (red maple)
  • Pinus strobus (eastern white pine)
  • Quercus rubra (red oak)
  • Amelanchier aborea (smooth serviceberry shrub)
  • Thuja occidentalis (northern white cedar)

Trees come in two gallon buckets, weigh less than 5 lbs (2.3 kg) and will be from 2 to 5 feet (61-152cm) tall and will fit in a car, grocery trolly or on the TTC!

Tree for Me is part of the Every Tree Counts campaign supported by Toronto Parks and Trees foundation and City of Toronto.
