Safe Rail DRAFT Rail Emergency Preparedness Toolkit March 10 th Meeting

We have a Toolkit for you!

Safe Rail Communities (@safe_rail) is pleased to present a DRAFT Rail Emergency Preparedness Toolkit, funded in part by Transport Canada, as part of its Rail Safety Improvement Program (Education & Awareness). In response to requests for information from concerned residents after an August 2016 derailment in Toronto’s west end, we realized that there was a gap in knowledge that could significantly impact residents like ourselves who live close to rail lines. In collaboration with Disaster & Emergency Management specialists, we have pulled together a number of resources that can inform and prepare residents for a rail emergency. Please contact us ( if you would like to review a copy of the toolkit. On Saturday, March 10, 2018 (10 am – noon), we invite you to share your feedback on the content we have prepared. This Community Focus Group will be facilitated by a Disaster & Emergency Management specialist, and supported by Safe Rail Communities
