The need for more special needs assistants in Toront0’s Schools.

Quickly addressed by the staff of the Regent Park community centre, and resovled by getting  an SNA to come over from the attached school, a probably 7 year old special needs child has wandered in the community centre area.

The child was wondering from room to room just playing. However because this occurred in a time period of at about 10 am, when the centre was virtually empty.

However if this had occurred during a time period when the children from the attached elementary school when masses of children come into the centre, the child may have gotten further away.

With the reduction of SNA’s over the past five years disability child supervision has become much weaker in the school system.
