Donate to the Sorauren Park Town Square campaign

Help us take down the rusty old fence around the empty lot at Sorauren Park and build a new community amenity, the Sorauren Town Square. The Town Square will add more green space, more trees, picnic areas, gardens, a community pizza/bake oven, more room for the Farmers’ Market, and a stage area for performances and events.

Thanks to families, individuals, businesses, politicians and local organizations, more than $13,000 has been raised in a few short months.

Our community goal is $40,000, or approximately 10% of the total project costs. And the non-profit Wabash Building Society is working with other foundations and businesses to raise more than half of final project costs.

Every donation counts — $10, $50, $100 or more — and leverages more funding from other sources. Donations of $100 or more will be recognized on a permanent donor wall to be constructed on site, and on our virtual donor wall which you can see by clicking here.

Every donation of $10 or more will receive a charitable tax receipt. You can donate online through our partnership with the Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation, or by cheque mailed to us and transferred to the City of Toronto’s charitable reserve fund set up for the purpose.

Help us build this new community gathering space and green space, and add value to the neighbourhood by putting fenced-off derelict land back to public use! (Plus, it gets us closer to our final goal, the Wabash Community Recreation Centre!)
