Until 1972 the Longworth Milling Company, Ltd plant sat near the intersection of Vine Ave. And McMurray Ave. At this time the plant was demolished and the land was was incorporated into the Vine Ave. park. The community had energized itself for a long difficult effort to have the city purchase the land for its inclusion in the smaller existing Vine Ave. Park.
The plant was huge with silos that towered above the residential houses, and spilled huge amount of gran onto Vine Ave. daily.

in 1970 the other milling plant n the Junction was the Maple Leaf Mills, Ltd.. on 12 Monarch Road, (now gone but was near the intersection of Old Weston Rd. and Junction Rd.
