Remembrance Day commemorates the sacrifices of people in all armed conflicts

Pte. Hastings Killed. from the Globe and Mail, November 17th 1943

Pte.  Albert R. Hastings, R.C.A.S.C., has been killed overseas, according to information received by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fidier, 224 Medland St.  It is believed that his death was the result of a motor accident.  Hastings, who has been overseas since January, 1940, married a second time while overseas.  He had planned to return to Canada after the war with his English bride.  His two daughters, Barbara, 6, and Marilyn, 3, survive him, as do his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hastings.  He attended St. Clair Ave. School and Danforth Collegiate.
