Project Associate – Junction Arts Festival 2009
The Junction Forum for Art and Culture is looking to hire an individual to assist in the administration and coordination of the Junction Arts Festival taking place September 9 to 13, 2009. The successful applicant must be available from June 15 to September 18, 2009.
The Junction Arts Festival is one of Toronto’s largest and fastest growing multi-arts Festivals. Since 2007 the festival has attracted over 200,000 visitors over the 5 day event. Street art and artists form the core of the creative experience that houses an artist market, live music, site specific dance, theatre and comedy as well as installations, indoor galleries and a Juried Art Exhibit. New this year is a literary element that will increase the artistic participation and add to the flavor of the street.
This position offers creative input, flexiblity, and provides a gratifying experience that supports both the arts and the community. The successful applicant will assist directly with the Creative Director and will be required to offer input and feedback in many planning aspects of the festival. The successful applicant must be available to work throughout the 5 day period of the festival with various supervision and hands-on coordination. This is a project-based position. [Full overview]
