All text the group,

Park People’s just released its 2022 Constituents’ Guide to help guide your conversations about issues like equity, resilience, and engagement in city parks.

The 2022 Constituents’ Guide offers policy approaches to ensure parks help address the enormous challenges in our cities like climate change, biodiversity loss, social polarization and rising inequality. We propose solutions such as:

  • Investing more money in park operations.

  • Addressing inequitable access to green spaces and their benefits.

  • Establishing a human-rights-based approach to park encampments.

The questions and ideas presented in the 2022 Constituents’ Guide will help youget more involved in advocating for parks that foster equity, resilience, and community well-being.

We’ve also just released  Parks Platform 2022: Toronto Parks as Core Urban Infrastructure featuring policies candidates for municipal office can adopt to accelerate the transition to a more equitable, resilient future for city parks.

Let’s work together to shift parks from “nice to haves” to essential infrastructure in our cities.
