LIQUOR RAIDS at the JUNCTION: March 1908 reports on a police raid that took place in Toronto Junction. The raid was led by Provincial Inspector Ayearst and Inspector D. McKenzie of Woodbridge, and targeted several locations including hotels, restaurants, and a private residence. The officers found liquor at all of the places they searched, including a bottle of whiskey at the Peacock Hotel, five bottles of whiskey and 15 dozen bottles of ale concealed under the cellar floor at the Occidental Hotel, a bottle of whiskey at the Subway Hotel, whiskey and beer at a boarding house, and beer at the Alhambra Quick Lunch. The liquor was seized and the people involved will be tried before Magistrate Ellis at Toronto Junction on Monday.
