Nov 1909 – A proposal for an iron foundry on the corner of Mulock Avenue and Junction Road was met with opposition from local property owners. Despite the City Architect’s support for the application, the Civic Fire and Light Committee deferred action on the permit at the request of Aid. Anderson.

A petition against the project was sent to the Mayor, and the committee recommended that Mr. G. F. W. Price, Assistant City Architect, be given a special bonus for his acting role during the six-month illness of City Architect McCallum.
