As part of The Junction BIA’s 50th Anniversary, the removal and installation of 34 new benches within the community is currently underway. This project not only commemorates the milestone of the organization, but it also serves an important purpose in enhancing the public space for residents and businesses.
Benches are a valuable asset to any community as they offer a place for people to rest and gather. In addition to being a comfortable seating option, benches provide a sense of community by promoting socialization and interaction among residents and visitors.
For businesses, having benches outside their storefronts can attract foot traffic and encourage potential customers to stop and rest, while also providing an opportunity for people to observe and appreciate the surrounding area. It can also add a welcoming touch to the community and promote a positive image for the business.
By replacing old and worn-out benches with new ones, The Junction BIA is not only providing a more comfortable and equitable seating option for all, but also contributing to the overall aesthetic and functionality of the community. This capital cost-share initiative in partnership with the City will create a more active and inviting environment, ultimately leading to a more vibrant and connected community.
