Help save Scarlett Gardens Nursery (aka Tumino’s)!!!
Due to new city by-laws, Scarlett Gardens Nursery property is now considered residential property and will be closed down as early as February without community support to try to keep it open.
This is a family run garden centre for over 60 years! It would be a shame to see this property turned into more condos, like they are doing with the former Plant World property. This is the only nursery left in our neighbourhood and it would be sad to see it go, simply because bylaws have changed to drive them out.
As their flyer says in the picture, you can stop by the shop at 271 Scarlett Rd to sign their petition, email the owner Aldo at aldotumino@gmail.com with the title ‘Support’, or contact our councillor or Mayor showing you support this business staying open.
Thank you & Happy Holidays!

Since Councillor Frances Nunziata is friendly with Doug Ford, don’t expect much help from her. It may upset Doug’s developer friends.
I Alvin Tanuan, is in support of keeping a long tradition of a corner garden store in the heat of Islington area. I live in Markham, and go to shop at Scarlett gardens. To have a Meat packing building in side the residential area will destroy the beauty of the city, and will leave a constant smell of rotting meat. It will also incur more pests , rat infestations in the neighboring homes.
